The City striker has won 96 caps for his country to date and if he features on the games against Brazil and Uruguay during the international break, he will be within touching distance of something he dreamed of as a boy.
Aguero won his first senior cap for La Albiceleste against Brazil in 2006 and has scored 40 goals to date (his career club and country tally is 408 goals from 739 matches).

Surprisingly, Kun wasn’t aware he was so close to a century of caps.
“I hadn’t realised!” said Sergio.
“Since I was very young, I dreamed of playing for the national team.
“It’s been a great source of pride to have so many games under my belt, ever since my first call-up for Argentina Under-17s when I was 15 years of age.
“Wearing the white-and-cerulean has been the greatest honour of my life and if I do get to 100 caps for my country, it will be an amazing moment in my career.”
And though not a stats-driven player, Aguero still can reach many more notable milestones for City as well.
He has 244 goals to date for the Blues and the 173 Premier League goals he’s s far bagged makes him our record league goal scorer as well as the overall goals record holder.
With a quarter-century within his grasp for City, does he believe he can reach the 300-mark for the Club?
“Stats are not what drives me forward,” he said.
“When I’m out in the field, they’re not what’s on my mind. I enjoy our team’s achievements much more than those that only affect my own record.
“I hope the goals keep on coming and give wins to the team. As long as that happens, I’ll be quite happy.”
