The Brazilian striker opened the scoring at Selhurst Park, netting his 50th goal for the Club with a diving header and two minutes later David Silva finished a fine team move with a sweetly struck volley.

Jesus felt it was a solid all-round display and has called for more of the same from his team-mates.
“We played well,” he said.
“With and without the ball, that is great for us. Bernardo‘s cross was amazing, I am happy because I tried two or three times before to score.
“It is always difficult to play against Crystal Palace. We have to pass the ball all the time to try and score. They have good players.
“It is not just about this [game]. We have to do it all the time - thinking about winning. Of course, we can’t always win. Sometimes football is like this and now is the time to come back strong.”
Jesus’ sentiments were echoed by compatriot Fernandinho, who was proud of the way in which we executed our game plan against Roy Hodgson’s side.
The Brazilian, who was deployed at centre-half alongside fellow defensive midfielder Rodrigo acknowledged the hosts caused City some problems in the latter stages and was grateful for the stellar qualities of Ederson, who produced when it mattered after a fairly quiet afternoon.
“We just tried to play our style of football and our philosophy,” he explained.
“We are so proud because in the first half we scored two goals, we controlled the game, they didn’t have any chances.
“They put [Christian] Benteke on at the end of the game and he caused us some problems, but Ederson was superb was superb to make the saves.
“We are happy because we created a lot of chances to score goals.
“They started to play long balls and high balls for their tall players. But if we scored the goals from the chances we created it would have been a different game.”
