It proved to be another difficult month for our panel to whittle down to just three candidates.
Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling and Ilkay Gundogan, to name just a few, were all worthy of making the final three.
But it is Riyad Mahrez, Kevin De Bruyne and Rodrigo who will battle it out for this month’s award.

Mahrez has continued the dazzling form he has demonstrated since the start of the season and produced a number of outstanding individual displays during September.
The Algerian wing wizard was a key factor in our impressive 3-0 Champions League win away at Shakhtar Donetsk where he opened the scoring.
And he was at his instrumental best again in last weekend’s hard-fought 3-1 win at Everton, capping a fine evening’s work by restoring our advantage at Goodison Park with a stunning second half free-kick.
Rodrigo, meanwhile, has already cemented himself as one of the standout performers for the Club since his summer move from Atletico Madrid.
And his influence has only grown over September with a series of assured performances in the key holding midfield role, his impact and importance encapsulated by the remarkable stats in our win at Shakhtar that revealed he boasted a 100 per cent pass completion rate that night.
De Bruyne meanwhile is another to have gone from strength to strength since the start of the season.
Fully fit and refreshed after last season’s injury issues, the Belgian has been outstanding and already tops the Premier League assists table having created eight goals for his City colleagues.
De Bruyne also got in on the scoring act himself in our record-breaking 8-0 win over Watford – City’s biggest win in Premier League history – rounding off a remarkable display with a stunning 25-yard thunderbolt.
