Andreas Isaksson is relishing the challenge of the English Premiership after completing his move to Manchester City.
The Swedish goalkeeper, capped 42 times by his country, has started training with the City squad after the £2million deal that sees him move to City from French side Rennes was finalised.
Speaking exclusively to mcfc.co.uk, 24-year-old Andreas said: “It’s a great club to come to, and to come to England and play for a club like Manchester City is an honour for me.
“It’s a big club, there a lot of good players in the squad and I am really looking forward to playing here.
“I think that the English league is the best in the world. It’s tough, but I grew up with it on television in Sweden so it has always been a dream of mine to play in England.”
Andreas, who is six feet and six inches tall, had a busy summer as Sweden’s first choice keeper at the World Cup but after a short break following the tournament he returned to training in France and is ready for the challenge of the Premiership.
“I feel good, I have been in training for three or four weeks and it should not take too much time to adjust to playing here, but I think it’s more physical for keepers over here and tougher than in France. I am looking forward to that, I think it will suit me.”
