The Daily Mirror have today apologised for claiming inaccurately that Micah Richards had submitted a transfer request.

The newspaper made the error on Tuesday and the Club quickly confirmed that it had received no such request from the talented teenager.

City boss Stuart Pearce also set the record straight on Micah after the friendly at Wrexham on Wednesday.

A City spokesman said: “We are glad that the newspaper has corrected the error, and the matter is now closed.”
