Georgios Samaras is enjoying his first pre-season with City, and the results have been evident out on the pitch during the friendlies played so far.

Big Sam has featured in all three warm-up matches so far, bagging three goals and getting into some good positions as the build-up to the Premiership continues.

Having arrived at the end of January this year, the 21-year-old now feels firmly established at the Club as he uses pre-season to get himself ready for the new campaign.

“Things are going well,” says Georgios. “I am enjoying it and I am working hard to be ready for the start of the season.

“It’s been nice to get these goals in the friendlies, but it’s so important to keep getting the goals once we have started in the Premier League again.”

The current heatwave presents no problems to the striker either, who clearly relishes conditions that must remind him of home even if his professional career has taken him away from Greece.

“It’s nice weather!” Georgios insists. “Training is really hard when the weather is like this, but the new players have helped training go well. The new team is starting to pull together, and I hope this season is a really good one for us.”
