Kiatprawut Saiwaew (21), Suree Sukha (25) and Teerasil Dangda (19) were all part of their national squad for the recent Asia Cup tournament, with Sukha, a defender, starting all three matches.
Saiwaew, another defender, played in the final two games and the players have been accompanied to Manchester by the Thai national first team coach, Chanvit Polchovin.
After meeting the trio, Sven said: “We are going to look at them over the next two weeks, they are three players from Thailand and of course we have a great connection with that country.
“One is a right defender, said to be one of the best in Asia, and there is a central defender and a striker as well. They are all senior international players, they are going to stay with us together with their coach for two weeks and then we’ll see.”
He continued: “It’s good to have connections with another country, and they are full internationals so they will be good players. They are young also, and the way this Club brings on young players is a strength of ours, so they will all have the chance to do well here.”

Suree Sukha’s impressive performances on the right side of defence at club and country level have made him one of the few players almost guaranteed a place in the starting 11. A no-nonsense tackler, Suree is one of the main weapons in coach Chanvit Polchovin’s attacking arsenal with his rampaging runs down the right channel and pinpoint crossing a regular source of goals for the national team and club side Chonburi.
After catching the eye with the Thailand U-19s at the AFC Youth Championship in India and with the Olympic side, Teerasil Dangda was a surprise call-up to the provisional 30-man AFC Asian Cup squad. But while the 19-year-old starlet impressed with his effort and enthusiasm at Thailand’s AFC Asian Cup training camp in Germany, his lack of experience makes it unlikely he will feature in any of the Group A matches.
Kiatprawut Saiwaew’s performances at the heart of the Thailand U-23 defence have prompted head coach Chanvit Polchivin to see how the powerful 21-year-old can adapt to training with the senior squad at the AFC Asian Cup preparation camp in Germany.
