Speaking to mcfc.co.uk yesterday, the Blues boss said: “Our problem, and I don’t think we should hide that, is that players are coming in very close to the start of the Premier League. And to make them fit in as a team we have to be very good because the time is very short.
“Then of course today will still don’t know if two of the players will have work permission or, but that will be dealt with tomorrow.”
With the Bulgarian striker and Croatian defender’s hearing expected this afternoon over work permits, Sven added: “The thing for those two guys is that they are here. They couldn’t play last Saturday against Valencia and now they are waiting and wanting to play.”
If work permission is granted, Eriksson could have all eight of his signings available for selection against West Ham on Saturday, but he admits it will be tough for those players new to the Premier League at first.
Sven said: “It’s a big step for the new players to come to the Premier League and many of them haven’t played in the Premier League before.
“It will be tough for them in the beginning, I’m sure about that. But we have already found professors in English because two or three of them really don’t speak English.
“The positive is that we have a lot of good football players and they will great work for this Club in the future I am sure about it.”
