The big stopper had a good start to pre-season, after missing virtually all of the last one, only to be struck down with a fractured thumb early last month and as the Swede reaches full fitness his Manager is a happy man again.
“I’m very happy that we have three very good goalkeepers all fit again,” Eriksson said.
“We need him, of course we need him. Whether he comes into the team or not for the next game, I don’t know, he hasn’t played any games this season.
“It’ll be interesting to see on Saturday if Sweden play him or not in their qualification game against Denmark. If he doesn’t play there he might play on the Wednesday in their friendly against Montenegro.”
Isaksson’s last Premier League appearance for the Blues came at White Hart Lane in the final game of last season, where he saved a penalty in a 2-1 defeat, but he won’t have it easy as he attempts to reclaim the number one jersey.
Kasper Schmeichel has himself saved a penalty this season, against North London’s other club, and Sven conceded he has a tough decision to make ahead of City’s next game: “In one way it makes life difficult for us, but that’s good. I think he’s been very, very good in all the games he’s played so far.”
