The City Assistant Manager remained in Sweden after the last international break following an illness in the family. Sven today said the 55-year-old will be given as much time as needs back in his homeland.
“As the situation is today, it could stay like this for a while, Hans is temporarily out,” Sven revealed this afternoon.
“He’s back in Sweden because of an illness in the family, which I’m sorry about, but that is a fact.”
The Blues boss also confirmed that reserve team manager, Kenny Jackett, will step up to a first team role on a temporary basis.
In turn, former City Academy coach, Ian Miller will temporarily fill in for Jackett by taking the reserves.
Eriksson added: “At the moment Kenny Jackett from the reserves is coming up with us and Ian Miller will take the reserves. That will be the solution for the moment.
“It’s a temporary thing and we all hope – and I think strongly – that Hans is back with us again soon.
Former Blackburn, Doncaster and Forest player Miller has previous experience of City through a coaching role at the Platt Lane Academy.
More recently he worked at Blackburn’s Academy and last season Miller was part of the first team coaching staff at Championship side Leicester City.
