The Blues’ skipper was suspended for Sunday’s win over Aston Villa, but in an exclusive interview with MCFCTV.com he said how he delighted he was with the hard-fought 1-0 win.
“I’m like anyone-else, no-one likes to miss a game but it was important for us to get a win,” says Richard. “The way the lads fought and scrapped for the three points was brilliant, it’s given everyone a boost although of course I was disappointed to miss out.
“The Manager’s built a really good squad since he came here, and it showed on Sunday when we were missing three of four players and were still able to put in a good performance.
“I’m usually a bad spectator, but there’s a lot more confidence around the camp and I was confident watching on Sunday. I don’t like watching, and I hope I don’t have to do it too often, but getting the good result made it a lot easier.”
Richard spoke to us at Manchester’s Museum of Science & Industry in support of Caudwell Children, one of Manchester City’s nominated charities for this season. To see the full interview, as well as lots more great features from around the club, go to www.mcfctv.com >
