The Blues should have been more than two goals up before substitute Diomansy Kamara inspired a stunning comeback that gives the Cottagers a chance of staying in the Premier League.
Kamara bagged two goals either side of Danny Murphy’s equaliser, which came after Joe Hart had saved the former Liverpool midfielder’s penalty, and the City manager pinpointed a lack of willingness to fight as key to the shock defeat.
Sven said, “It was very disappointing, especially for the fans, who were fantastic again today, even after the game.
“But I’m very disappointed, we gave away three points and we thought we had won the game with 20 minutes to go. If you have the attitude that if you lose the ball you don’t need to try to get it back, then anything is possible.
“We had a good attitude for more than an hour, but that went, we gave away the win and it’s bad.
“Even though we didn’t have the right attitude in defence, we should have won the game because we still had so many chances in the last 15 minutes.”
The defeat leaves City’s hopes of a place in Europe on a knife-edge, although the Manager is waiting for Sunday’s games to see where we stand.
“All the teams around us play each other on Sunday, and they all can’t lose unfortunately so we’ll see. I’ll look at the table then, but of course it’s going to be much more difficult now. We had to win today and we gave it away,” he added.
