Robbie Keane had given the visitors the lead after 32 minutes, but a determined City won the game with second half goals from Academy Graduates Stephen Ireland and Nedum Onuoha, his first ever goal for the Club.
Afterwards Eriksson said: “I hope this is the turning point and that we can play well for the rest of the season.
“I think we deserved to win. I think we created more chances than they did and it was extremely important for us to win. We had gone three games without scoring a goal and getting only one point.
“I don’t think we played badly in the first half, but we needed to be livelier and show less respect.
“I thought we had better initiative in the second half and scored two goals. I think if you look at the game we deserved to win it.”
There was some slight debate as City levelled with Stephen Ireland possibly offside, but after a couple of controversial decisions went against the Blues at White Hart Lane earlier in the season, Sven concluded: “It’s very difficult to see. Even if it is offside I think Spurs owe us one or two offsides!”
