Roberto Mancini hailed David Silva after City’s impressive 3-2 win over Bolton Wanderers.

The Blues’ boss felt the brilliant Spaniard dictated the game and he was delighted with his midfielder after he scored a goal and picked up man-of-the-match honours for the second game running.

“David is a fantastic player and was excellent against Bolton,” said Mancini.“He makes it look easy and he has started the season very well. I am very happy with him.”

Though Mancini was pleased with the victory at the Reebok, he believes his side cannot concede too many goals if the Blues are to remain at the top of the Premier League.

Wanderers twice pegged City back after going two goals behind, but Mancini’s side deservedly held out to maintain their 100% start to the new campaign.

“This was an incredible game because we had so many chances yet we had to suffer right until the final whistle,” he said.

“I think we need to score maybe 15 more goals than we did last season, but at the same time, we cannot concede more than we did last year if we want to do well.

“I thought Edin Dzeko played very well and so did Sergio Aguero, but it is normal that he was tired towards the end. Neither Aguero or Carlos are fully match fit yet.”

Mancini also revealed he is hopeful Samir Nasri will join City in the next day or so. “I hope so,” he smiled. “We will have to see but I am hopeful we can maybe complete this deal sooner rather than later.”
