After receiving a plethora of plaudits for the style and verve City showed during Sunday’s 3-2 victory at Bolton, the England midfielder – who scored a 25-yard howitzer against the Trotters – says the Blues are aiming to entertain and attack in the coming weeks and months.
With 15 shots at goal at the Reebok, the mantra to play a more expansive game was there for all to see at Bolton.
“We know what we have to do this season and one of the improvements we need to make is to score more goals than we did last season,” said Barry.
“We’ve managed seven in our first two Premier League games so we’ve made a good, positive start to the season in that respect, though we gave away two poor goals against Bolton as well.”
Barry also admitted he hopes Carlos Tevez is still a City player beyond the August transfer window following the Argentina striker’s second-half appearance at the Reebok.
“It was great to see Carlos back on Sunday and our fans gave him a great reception,” he said.

“Everyone knows how important he was to our team last season and how much we relied on him at times so we hope he can still play a part this season, too.
“Sergio Aguero has made a fantastic start to his career with us as well and we have a really strong squad of players now and there could be more to come.
“As a player, it’s great to see players like Aguero coming in and it’s an exciting time to be part of Manchester City.”
