The 34-year-old World Cup winner has appeared 34 times for the Blues this season, scoring five times as well as picking up his fifth FA Cup winner’s medal against Stoke earlier this month.
Now the man who has literally been there, done it and got the medals to prove it, wants to remain with the club he’s taken to his heart and become something of a crowd favourite towards the latter end of his City career.
“It’s really nice because although I don’t play that much, I’ve really felt a real connection with the fans, particularly over the last month,” said Vieira.

After picking up his CITC Player of the Year award at last weekend’s glittering end-of-season bash, the man who has earned the right to be called one of football’s true legends admitted he would love to continue being part of Manchester City in whatever role is deemed best for the Club.
“We are starting to talk about the future only now because the target we had was to qualify for the Champions League and win the FA Cup first, now we have achieved that so I will sit down and discuss thing with the club and a decision will be made very soon,” he said.
“I really want to stay here because I’ve loved my time with City and as I said, the fans have been fantastic. I just need to speak to the manager and then with the board and try to find a solution that suits everyone, but if there is a possibility, I would love to stay here.”
