The Blues are also re-writing numerous club records as they continue to sweep all before them in what has been a breath-taking first three months.
Following the 3-1 win over Newcastle United, City are now the only unbeaten side in the top flight and have made the best ever start to a Premier League season, eclipsing Arsenal’s Invincibles who won nine and drew three of their opening 12 games in 2003/04.
It’s also 48 years since anyone scored as many goals in the opening dozen games. Tottenham banged in 44 goals in 1963/64 – just two more than Roberto Mancini’s side have managed so far.
The 11 successive home League wins City have achieved is also the best run since 15 in a row were chalked up between 1920 and 1921 - and only Fulham have left with a point in the last 16 Premier League home matches – that’s a haul of 46 points out of a possible 48.
City are also unbeaten at home since last December – almost a calendar year – and since Everton’s 2-1 win at the Etihad Stadium 11 months ago, the Blues have won 23 and drawn two of the past 25 home games in all competitions.
Compared with last season the Blues are 27 goals and 13 points better off than the same stage in November 2010 – an amazing leap on both fronts

If Mancini’s side want to set a new club top flight unbeaten run record as well, the Blues need to avoid defeat in their next eight games to beat the 1936/37 statistic of 22 matches without losing – and that season City went on to win the League.
Finally, Mancini is on course to become one of the club’s greatest ever managers, with the highest top flight win percentage with a ratio of 61% from his 105 games in charge which equates to 63 wins, 21 draws and 21 defeats so far.
