Emmanuel Adebayor led City's loan rangers with the first-half double against Aston Villa that hoisted Tottenham into third place in the Barclays Premier League.

A brilliant overhead kick and a scrappy second from Manu were enough for Spurs to claim all three points on a cold Monday night at White Hart Lane.

Down in League Two, Harry Bunn put in a man-of-the-match performance for struggling Rochdale, who moved out of the relegation zone with a 1-0 win at Preston.
