The Blues’ terrace idol has bagged 28 goals in a stunning debut campaign and is up for the PFA Players’ Player of the Year Award and has also been nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year and MCFC Player of the Year.
“Can I improve? I hope so!” said Sergio. “I never hold back in doing my share for the team. If that sometimes means me attempting something a bit different, that’s even better!
“I’m just as happy to take a lucky deflection or tap-in if it helps the team. Team goals are great for everyone but if I can produce something memorable every now and then, you won’t find me complaining.”
One of Aguero’s trademarks this season has been his joyous celebrations each time he finds the back of the net -as he again showed in the6-1 win at Norwich where he was outstanding.
“Every goal is special and I enjoy each one I score,” he said. “I just celebrate in the way it comes out at that particular moment with nothing planned. That could be related to our Latin blood!
Argentinian men are very passionate. And football is our passion, it’s my passion. It’s that simple

Sergio also revealed how happy he is that he has struck such a close bond with the City fans, who have taken the 23-year-old to their hearts.
“I was lucky to be well received at every club I’ve played for. It was the case at Independiente de Avellaneda then at Atlético Madrid - and now here at City.
“The supporters of each team are different – but they all share the same passion for their team.
“It’s true that they all express it in different ways, but the feeling is still the same. To me, having this kind of relationship is a privilege. It’s comforting and inspiring for me.
“I also really like the song the City fans sing for me - it’s original, too! In Argentina, it was ‘Agüero, Agüero!’, while in Spain they chanted ‘Kun, Kun, Kun…’ - and now it’s the ‘Sergio, Sergio’ - that was all that had been missing.
“I like how the City fans say it – it’s pronounced ‘Ser-hee-oh’ in Spanish, and it’s fun to hear our supporters ‘Ser-gee-o.’ I know the fans can come up with new songs on their own and I’ll always welcome any new ones!”
