The former Southampton and Chelsea left-back spent the latter part of the 2011/12 campaign on loan with Sunderland after finding first-team action hard to come by at City.
A Mark Hughes signing, Bridge joined the Blues from Chelsea in January 2009, making 58 appearances in three-and-a-half years.
The arrival of Aleksandar Kolarov and Gael Clichy limited his opportunities further and he in January 2011, he moved to West Ham on a five-month loan deal, making 18 appearances for the Hammers.
Bridge returned to City and played in the 2-0 Carling Cup victory over Birmingham City – his last appearance in sky blue – before joining Martin O’Neill’s Sunderland last January.
He played 10 times for the Black Cats and will now be looking for regular first-team football with Gus Poyet’s Brighton.
Capped 36 times by England, everyone at City wishes Wayne good luck with the Seagulls.
