Toure will leave City at the end of the season, bringing the curtain down on a glorious eight-year spell that has seen him win three Premier League titles, three League Cups and an FA Cup.
And although his role has been reduced this season, making just 16 appearances, De Bruyne told the Manchester Evening News the Ivorian has been a key figure.
“I guess he was one of the players where the revolution started,” said De Bruyne. “He has had a lot of great games and won so many things here and he deserves a big farewell game from everybody.
“When I came here he was a big part – even this year when he didn’t play so often he has been a big part of it and a massive player.
“The way he has performed his entire career is impressive.”

The Manchester Evening News also have news of Benjamin Mendy’s World Cup plans.
They have picked up quotes from an interview Mendy conducted with SFR Sport, where the left-back, who missed most of the season with a knee injury, says he wants to be part of Didier Deschamps’ squad for Russia.
“I’ll do like everyone else and try to get as much playing time as possible,” Mendy said.
“We’ll see when the list comes out. Physically and mentally, I’m at full power and I’m ready to go to Russia.”

“Manchester City have gone the extra mile - and in some case a few thousand - to pay tribute to each of their Premier League-winning squad,” Gary Stonehouse writes in the Sun.
“The Cityzens wrapped-up the title last month but had to wait until after yesterday’s draw with Huddersfield to finally get their hands on the silverware.
“But in a superb gesture to the men that made it happen, the club decided to display images of each one of their stars in their home towns.”
