City suffered our first defeat since Boxing Day after losing 2-1 away to Newcastle United

The Blues got off to the best possible start when Sergio Aguero poked home his 15th goal in 13 appearances against Newcastle 24 seconds into the match.

The Argentine then thought he had doubled the lead, but his 20th minute flick from a quick Kevin De Bruyne free kick was ruled out due to the Belgian not waiting for referee Paul Tierney’s whistle.

The hosts pulled themselves level in the 66th minute, when Salomon Rondon kept his eye on a looping ball into the box to volley past Ederson from close range.

Things then got worse with ten minutes to play when Matt Ritchie converted from the spot after Fernandinho had upended Sean Longstaff, consigning the Blues to our first defeat in over a month.
