Manchester City stepped up preparations ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League showdown under the Etihad lights with Atalanta.

We go into the game hoping to extend our 100% record in Group C so far, but Pep Guardiola revealed in a pre-match press conference that he expects a stern test from the Italians, who we have never faced before.

But the players’ desire to turn that ambition of three wins in three Champions League matches into a reality was clear to see, and there was a high intensity on show during some warm-up rondos.

The team have also been boosted by the return of Kyle Walker and Nicolas Otamendi to training after they missed Saturday’s win at Crystal Palace.
