Clinical. </div></p></section><section><h3>Hattrick goal v Steaua Bucharest (a)</h3><p><div>Aguero completed his hattrick moments later when Fernandinho’s throughball saw him run clear of the Steaua centre-backs. He took a couple of touches to compose himself before curling his shot in off the post. Florin Nita, in the Steaua goal, had no chance. </div></p></section><section><h3>Penalty v Stoke (a)</h3><p><div>Having missed two penalties in the previous game against Steaua, Aguero showed real mettle to step up and take one at the Britannia. He buried it and City were on their way to a 4-1 win.</div></p></section><section><h3>A classic header v Stoke (a)</h3><p><div>De Bruyne whipped in a free-kick and Aguero got between two Stoke defenders and headed home expertly. </div></p></section><section><h3>Near-post finish v Borussia Monchengladbach (h)</h3><p><div>Kolarov’s brilliant low cross found Aguero at the near post and he showed all his striking instincts to finish first time past Yann Sommer. A classic poacher’s goal and City’s Champions League group-stage campaign was off to a decent start. </div></p></section><section><h3>Cool penalty v Borussia Monchengladbach (h)</h3><p><div>Gundogan was brought down on the edge of the area and Aguero stepped up to take the penalty, sending Sommer the wrong way before calmly slotting home low to the keeper’s left. </div></p></section><section><h3>Hattrick goal v Borussia Monchengladbach</h3><p><div>Sterling played a wonderful throughball into Aguero’s path that sent him racing towards goal. Sagna crossed to Aguero on the edge of the area. His first touch took two Swansea defenders out the game and his second saw him fire the ball past Lukas Fabianski. In a flash, City were one up and on their way to a solid away win. </div></p></section><section><h3>Penalty v Swansea (a)</h3><p><div>Mike van der Hoorn’s elbow on De Bruyne inside the area saw City awarded a penalty. Aguero waited for Fabianski to dive and chipped it down the middle. </div></p></section><section><h3>The opener v West Brom (a)</h3><p><div>Having gone six games without a goal, Aguero was back with a bang against West Brom, scoring twice. His first demonstrated his quality inside the area. He made a great run between two defenders, Gundogan found him with a superb pass and the Argentine hit a first-time strike past Ben Foster. </div></p></section><section><h3>A beauty v West Brom (a)</h3><p><div>His second was perhaps even better. He picked the ball up on the edge of the area, took two touches before rifling the ball into the top corner. </div></p></section><section><h3>Close-range finish v Middlesbrough (h)</h3><p><div>De Bruyne curled a wonderful cross into the six-yard box and Aguero was quickest to react, poking the ball past Victor Valdes to put City in front. </div></p></section><section><h3>Tap-in v Burnley (a)</h3><p><div>The ball was ricocheting around the box after Burnley failed to clear a City corner and Aguero was on hand to tap home from a few yards out to equalise. </div></p></section><section><h3>A scrappy second v Burnley (a)</h3><p><div>City will struggle to score a scrappier goal but Fernandinho’s last-ditch cutback bounced off Aguero’s leg and nestled in the back of the net, securing three vital points. </div></p></section><section><h3>A remarkable winner v Burnley (h)</h3><p><div>Aguero came off the bench and scored what turned out to be the winner...and what a goal it was. From the tightest of angles, he managed to squeeze it between two defenders and the near post with a first-time effort. The look of disbelief on the faces of the Burnley players told its own story. </div></p></section><section><h3>Simple strike v West Ham (a)</h3><p><div>With City 3-0 up and cruising in the FA Cup third round tie at West Ham, Aguero tapped home from Yaya Toure’s pass to add a fourth. An easy but clinical finish. </div></p></section><section><h3>Aguero draws City level v Monaco (h)</h3><p><div>After going another six games without a goal, he hit two in the 5-3 win over Monaco in the Champions League, the most entertaining game of City’s season. His first saw him a weak shot from 15 yards out and a mistake from Monaco ‘keeper Danijel Subasic carried the ball over the line. </div></p></section><section><h3>Volley makes it 3-3 v Monaco (h)</h3><p><div>Silva’s corner travelled over Stones’ head - but there was Aguero to volley home emphatically to make it 3-3. </div></p></section><section><h3>Penalty v Huddersfield (h)</h3><p><div>City defeated Huddersfield 5-1 in the FA Cup fifth-round replay at the Etihad, with Aguero bagging two. His first was a clinical penalty after Otamendi had been bundled over in the box. Aguero sent the ‘keeper the wrong way and smashed the ball into the top left-hand corner. </div></p></section><section><h3>Finishes off a fine team goal v Huddersfield (h)</h3><p><div>His second saw him finish off a brilliant passing move with a superb first-time finish from close range after Sterling’s pinpoint cross from the right. </div></p></section><section><h3>Opener v Sunderland (a)</h3><p><div>Another fine close-range finish, this time a near-post flick from Sterling’s ball in. </div></p></section><section><h3>Killer instincts v Middlesbrough (a)</h3><p><div>Some great passing between Silva, Sane and Clichy ended with the German winger free down the left. He played the perfect ball into the six-yard box and Aguero finished expertly once again. A fine move and City were on their way to the FA Cup semi-final. </div></p></section><section><h3>Equaliser v Liverpool (h)</h3><p><div>City drew 1-1 with Liverpool at the Etihad in March. Aguero cancelled out James Milner’s opener with yet another strike from six yards out. </div></p></section><section><h3>Penalty-box class v Arsenal (a)</h3><p><div>City weaved some pretty patterns in the build-up to this goal but as De Bruyne tried to play a one-two with Sterling, Laurent Koscielny managed to get a foot in and divert the ball away from the Belgian. It fell to Silva, who played a perfectly-weighted pass to Aguero inside the area and from a tight angle, the Argentine slammed it home. </div></p></section><section><h3>Right place; right time v Chelsea (a)</h3><p><div>A poor kick from Thibaut Courtois landed straight at Silva’s feet. His shot was parried by the Chelsea ‘keeper and Aguero, as ever, was in the right place at the right time to capitalise. </div></p></section><section><h3>Perfect goal v Hull (h)</h3><p><div>The perfect Guardiola goal? A move involving all eleven players was finished off by Aguero. An amazing goal of the highest quality. </div></p></section><section><h3>Header v Southampton (a)</h3><p><div>City produced a fine performance away at Southampton in April. Aguero scored City’s third, out-jumping two Southampton defenders and heading in at the back post. </div></p></section><section><h3>Wembley magic v Arsenal</h3><p><div>A great break from City. Toure played a magnificent ball out of defence to set Aguero clear and he raced towards goal and chipped Petr Cech to put City ahead. </div></p></section><section><h3>Penalty v Middlesbrough (a)</h3><p><div>A 2-2 draw with Boro and Aguero was at it again, this time from the penalty spot. </div></p></section><section><h3>Neat finish v Watford (a)</h3><p><div>City saved one of their best displays of the season for the final day, a 5-0 win away at Watford. Aguero bagged two, the first of which saw him beat the offside trap and collect De Bruyne’s beautiful throughball before finishing neatly in the bottom corner. </div></p></section><section><h3>Beautiful team move v Watford (a)</h3><p><div>His final goal of the 2016/17 season saw him tap home after a brilliant team move. Silva was the conductor and it was his incisive pass that set Sane free down the City left. The German delivered a fine ball into the box - and there was Aguero to apply the finish.
