The Blues head to the home of the champions tonight with maximum points from their opening five games and a three-point lead over the Londoners in the Super League table.
While it’s believed four points in head-to-head encounters against Emma Hayes’ team could land Nick Cushing’s side the title, Ross asserts the visitors will not be taking any chances - they want all six.
The Scotland international also expects another tightly-fought contest, after the Staines outfit required a last-gasp extra-time strike to snatch victory in the FA Cup clash back in April.
“I’m sure it will be a great game,” she told mcfc.co.uk.
“Obviously, we’re both undefeated with maximum points so it’s a big one for both teams - but I think it’s a bit early to call it a title decider.
“We certainly won’t be playing for a draw. We want to go there and get a win but they’ll be up for it as much as we will be.
“We haven’t played for two-and-a-half weeks so we’re all ready and raring to go.
“Our aim is to win and maintain our place at the top of the table.”
Ross has settled well into the English league, having impressed with a string of fine displays even before she opened her City account.
Already a crucial component in Cushing’s squad, she has netted five goals in her last six games, including one against Chelsea in Staines.
Although the Scot is pleased with her scoring return, she asserts she is happier with the Blues’ collective performance.
“I’m really enjoying being at City and playing here in England,” she added. “The league is of a really good standard and it’s very physical with high intensity.
“The games have all been different and a lot of teams play different styles and philosophies so it’s also very tactical.
“I’ve had an okay start to the season and I’m looking to continue helping the team to victories.
“It’s always nice as a forward to be in amongst the goals but for me, it’s more important to be getting three points.
“We’re taking things one game at a time and hopefully, we can come away from Staines with a positive result.”
