Jill Scott preview

“We got the job done (against United). Now, we’ll go away and recover for the journey to London because we’re always drawn away!

“We know we’ll have to put in a better performance on Wednesday because it’s going to be very tough against Arsenal.”

Last time out

Ellen White continued her excellent goalscoring streak to seal City’s progression to the FA Women’s Cup fifth round with a thrilling 3-2 win over Manchester United.

The striker bagged her seventh and eighth goals in 14 appearances to clinch victory in her first Manchester Derby, while Jill Scott netted her first of the season, to extend our sensational start to the year.

Lauren James had halved the deficit midway through the second half and a Lauren Hemp own-goal made for a nervy final few minutes, but Nick Cushing’s side killed the game to restore the local bragging rights in City’s favour, with the holders now having won two of the first three professional encounters in 2019/20.

Last meeting

City’s unbeaten start to the Women’s Super League season was brought to an end by a frustrating 1-0 loss away to Arsenal.

Vivianne Miedema’s first-time effort just before the half-time break proved to be the difference, with neither side able to carve out many clear-cut chances.
