Head Coach Mark Sampson selected Karen Bardsley, Steph Houghton, Lucy Bronze, Jill Scott and Toni Duggan in his 23-strong party, fittingly making the squad announcement at the Canadian high commission in Trafalgar Square.
Sadly, there was no room for Demi Stokes in the squad.
Captain Houghton said: ”We’ve all worked so hard to get here. We can’t wait to get started.”
Sampson added: “”It was incredibly tough narrowing my World Cup squad down to 23 players.”
The squad will now meet at St George’s Park for a training camp before flying to Toronto for a friendly against the hosts on 29 May.
The Lionesses will compete in Group F alongside Colombia, France and Mexico, kicking off in New Brunswick where they will play their first two games.
First up, it’s France on 9 June before Sampson’s side come up against Mexico four days later.
Then it’s onto Montreal for the final group match against Colombia on 17 June.
England won all ten of their World Cup qualifiers, scoring 52 goals and conceding just once in the process.
Victory in the recent Cyprus Cup has inflamed optimism that England can perform better than in their last appearance at a major international tournament at Euro 2013.
In Sweden, England failed to win a single game and crashed out at the group stages but they are ranked behind United States, Germany, Brazil, France, Sweden, holders Japan and Canada for this tournament by the bookmakers, so will have to upset the odds to reach the 5 July final.
