The FA WSL title race is coming to the boil and City have an opportunity to extend their lead at the top.

MCWFC travel to Adams Park to meet Reading on Wednesday night where they will be hoping to make it four wins on the bounce to take a seven point lead at the summit.

Reading lie in seventh place in the table with six points from nine games but midfielder Daphne Corboz has warned that the Royals could play like they have nothing to lose.

Corboz told ManCity.com: “We’re excited to keep the momentum we have going and hopefully, that will continue at Reading.

“Possibly, they’re in a situation where they have nothing to lose but of course, in the position they’re in, they need to be getting points and I’m sure that will be their mindset in every game they go into. It will be a tough challenge for us.

“We say all the time we need to focus on ourselves and back ourselves to get results. Hopefully, we can do just that.”

This meeting with Reading is City’s second of four games in 12 days – a hectic run of fixtures at this pivotal stage in the campaign.

Following this clash in Berkshire, City face back-to-back games with Doncaster Belles in league and cup.

However, Corboz believes that the Blues can cope with the schedule and continue their positive momentum.

Daphne added: “We are at the top of the league right now. We want to continue that and regardless of what other teams do, we need to get results.

“The past few games have been really good for us.”
