Manchester City Women will stream their FA WSL Continental Tyres Cup semi-final against Arsenal Ladies live on Facebook.

The table-topping Blues take on the third placed Gunners for a spot in the final this Sunday 4 September at 2pm BST.

Nick Cushing’s side will be looking to make the final of the competition they won in 2014 and supporters around the world, or those who can’t make it to the Academy Stadium, can tune into the Club’s Facebook account to watch all the cup drama as it unfolds live.

This is the second time Manchester City Women have streamed a game on the social media platform, with the 4-1 win over Doncaster Belles in the previous round the first competitive fixture in the UK to be shown live on Facebook.

The Club have seen their global fan base soar in the past year and now have over 4.5 million likes on their Facebook page, which is more than 13 men’s Premier League Clubs.

Gavin Makel, Head of Women’s Football, commented: “Manchester City Women’s Football Club has seen fantastic growth across all of its social media platforms in the past year, and in particular on Facebook.

“We continue to look for new and innovative ways to engage with our fans from around the world to bring them closer to the action, with Facebook live streaming, being one such example.”

Captain Steph Houghton added: “I’m delighted that Manchester City fans from around the world will have the opportunity to watch us live on Sunday as we look to progress to the final.

“We hope to put on a great show for them!”
