Man City Women will have strong representation at Euro 2017 with England.

Mark Sampson has released his 23-player squad for the tournament in Holland, featuring eight Blues.

“The togetherness is a real strong point,” she declared. “It’s something we’ve been working on for the last couple of years, making sure we get the best out of each other.

“We have a lot of experience but whenever you get that email, it brings the same excitement. It’s an honour to be leading this squad out at the Euros.

“We have a really good chance of winning this tournament. Maybe we’re under a bit more pressure than we were at the World Cup.

“The success has been fantastic but we want to go one step further.

“Whenever we step out onto the training pitch, we focus on believing we have a chance.

“We’ve proven we can beat the best. The belied is what drives this team forward and keeps this team improving.”

The Lionesses, looking to build on their bronze medal success of the 2015 World Cup, face Scotland (19 July), Spain (23 July) and Portugal (27 July).

As part of their preparation, England host Italy on 7 April at Port Vale’s Vale Park and Austria three days later at Stadium:MK.
