The forward’s 18-month stint with the Blues has come to an end and she will return to the Club where her professional career began 10 years ago.
Having arrived at the Academy Stadium from Paris Saint-Germain in January 2016, the Swedish international enjoyed one trophy laden season with City and leaves a treble winner, with FA WSL, Continental Cup and FA Cup medals added to her collection.
Often operating on the flanks of Nick Cushing’s front three, the technical ability for which she is lauded was evident in the 25 appearances she made across all competitions.
The 28-year-old netted three times, including a memorable strike against Lyon in the Champions League semi-final and with more than 100 international caps to her name, the Swede’s experience proved valuable in a landmark season, which saw City crowned unbeaten champions and included a run to the final four in their maiden European campaign.
There was reason to celebrate on the international front, too, with Asllani featuring in all of Sweden’s games as they picked up a silver medal the 2016 Olympic Games - the first in the country’s history.
In doing so, Kosse joined a select group of City players to have tasted Olympic success and had the honour of being the first woman in Blues’ history to do so.
Her transfer marks her third spell at Linköpings, where she won the Damallsvenskan title in 2009, along with back to back Ladies Swedish Cups in 2008 and 2009.
