The England midfielder and her team mates controlled the game for long periods and she was impressed with the performance, despite only winning by a slender margin.
Christiansen opened the scoring with a first half header, before Simon Magill forced an equaliser in a similar fashion, but Nikita Parris also netted with her head to maintain the Blues unbeaten record.
And though frustrated it wasn’t more comfortable the 26-year-old was satisfied with the quality of the display.
“We were very professional and moved the ball well,” she reflected.
“We were a little sloppy at times and disappointed to concede from a set piece, but we showed great spirit to get back into the game and get the winner.
“I think we dominated the game so we’re pleased with how we played and with our win.”
Having created numerous first half chances, the tempo dropped in the second half and though City were still largely in control, Everton took their opportunity when it came.
It seemed to galvanise Nick Cushing’s side who hit back immediately, with Jill Scott going close before Parris grabbed the winner.
It was indicative of this team’s mentality and Christiansen explains such an approach makes it an enjoyable squad to be a part of.
“We learn, we grow and we have great togetherness in our team,” she explained.
“We’re a very exciting group, who love playing with and for each other. The manager is always putting in a great shift on the training field and we’re always wanting to improve and learn.”
With a 100 percent record in all competitions so far this season, it’s unsurprising to hear Christiansen talk of a confident camp.
They won’t be resting on their laurels, however, with the midfielder calling on her team mates to raise their level for the midweek trip to Norway to face LSK Kvinner in the Champions League last 16.
“We’re really confident, but we know we’ve got extra gears in us.
“We definitely will need to step it up in the Champions League because obviously it’s a very high quality of opposition.
“We need to make sure we’re at the top of our game so that we go there and make a statement about what we’re about.”
