Five City players have been nominated for the England Women’s Player of the Year Awards.

Nikita Parris and Demi Stokes are amongst five names shortlisted for the Player of the Year, while Keira Walsh, Esme Morgan and Ella Toone have been selected in the Young Player of the Year category.

The quintet have enjoyed successful seasons individually with the Blues, who secured qualification to the Champions League for the third consecutive season with a final day triumph over Everton on Sunday, alongside impressive displays for the Lionesses.

Forward Parris appeared five times for her country, bagging four goals, including a brace in a 5-0 victory over Kazakhstan in a 2019 World Cup qualifier.

Having racked up 48 appearances for the Lionesses, left-back Stokes has become a mainstay of Phil Neville’s side and started all three games at the SheBelieves Cup.

Defensive midfielder Walsh received her first senior call-up last November, making her debut against Kazakhstan. She went on to earn a place in the senior squad which travelled to America for the SheBelieves Cup before representing the Lionesses in their World Cup qualifying campaign against Wales.

Defender Morgan has enjoyed a breakthrough season at Club and international level. Since making her City debut in the Blues’ pre-season tour last summer, she has become a regular name in  young Lionesses side. Her Under-19s debut arrived against Kazakhstan in November and by March, she found herself captaining her country to victory over France in La Manga. She has made six international appearances.

Toone has also become a regular for the U19s, gaining a reputation as a prolific goalscorer. She bagged a brace on her debut against Kazakhstan last October and has netted six goals in eight games.
