In City’s 3-0 win over Liverpool on Sunday, Keira Walsh sustained a minor injury to her right knee.

Following medical assessment, Walsh is expected to return to training later this week, but as a precautionary measure has had to withdraw from the England squad for their fixtures against Austria and Sweden.

In her place, Mel Lawley has been called up to the England team.

Having made 37 appearances at youth level, Lawley broke into the senior team just over a year ago and will be hoping to add to her nine caps to date.
