The fixture was our last home game of the 2018/19 season with goals from Nikita Parris and Lauren Hemp ensuring that it would be marked with a win.
The Blues got off to a nervy start conceding just 20 seconds into the game after Fergusson slotted past Ellie Roebuck to give Yeovil an early lead.
After the game, winning goalscorer Hemp spoke of the disappointment at conceding an early goal but said that the result was a much-deserved one at full-time.
“We had just lacked a bit of concentration in that half. We were still in the game at half time and there was a lot of confidence and positive that we could take into the second half.
“We managed to create more chances and obviously get both of the goals.
“I love getting on the score sheet and helping the team to score goals and obviously that got us the result in the end.”
Next up for City is the FA Women’s Cup final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 4th May where we will look to to overcome the test posed by West Ham and secure this season’s cup double.
Looking ahead to the game, Hemp added that she is excited to be playing in a second cup final this season and is confident of our chances of lifting the trophy.
“I’m really excited for the game. West Ham are a great side that will give us a difficult game but I think that we can be confident.
“We just have to work hard in training this week and look forward to the game at the weekend.”
