Nick Cushing has stated that his side are ready to fight for a place in the quarter-final of the FA Women’s Cup as they take on Tottenham Hotspur Ladies.

The Blues progressed into the fifth round following a 3-0 victory over Watford, where Nikita Parris continued her excellent scoring form bagging two, while Pauline Bremer scored her first goal since returning from her lengthy injury lay-off.

We haven’t met Spurs since the relaunch in 2014, and will travel to The Stadium Cheshunt for the clash.

The FA Women’s Super League Division 2 side booked their place in the fifth round their 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace.

“We’ve watched Tottenham and we expect a difficult game,” Nick explained. “Those teams fight it out at the top of the Championship are good enough for the FA Women’s Super League.

“We’re not going to underestimate them. We will fight hard to ensure we’re in the next round.”

City travel to Spurs on the back of our 2-2 FA WSL draw with Chelsea, and despite the disappointment, Cushing is focused on bouncing back.

“We’re disappointed but it happens in football,” the City boss added. “We have to find the reason and make sure we learn from it.

“We have to move forward. We have a lot of opportunities to win and we have to make sure it doesn’t affect us in the short-term.

“We are toying between freshness and form. The players are training well.”

“I know the players well and it will motivate them.”

Kick-off is at 2pm and you can get live updates of the game via our matchday Twitter: @ManCityWomen.
