In our recent game, a second half comeback saw City take all three points against Everton at the Academy Stadium, with goals from Keira Walsh, Janine Beckie and Nikita Parris securing the win for City, responding to Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah’s opener and maintaining our place at the top of the WSL.
Now, as we look ahead to the final, Cushing believes being able to hand minutes to a variety of his players during the week will benefit the squad as we head to Bramall Lane.

“Not only did we win the game and win the game well (against Everton),” Cushing said. “But we had to solve a few problems and I’d rather have that than an easy win before a final.
“We got some minutes into Janine Beckie, while Abbie McManus and Meg Campbell both played 45 minutes.
“We’ve got a lot of competition in the squad and we’ve now got to pick the best team to beat Arsenal in the final.”
When asked about injury concerns in the Arsenal camp, Nick still expects the North London side to arrive in the final all guns blazing.
“They’ve got a plethora of talent,” Cushing added. “They could lose five (players) and put five internationals in!
“We know Arsenal will play their best team and we expect that to be a team full of internationals and talented players – that’s why it’s the final!”
