The Republic of Ireland defender, who joined Nick Cushing’s side in February 2016, has signed a one-year extension, keeping her at the Club until the summer of 2020 and will wear the number five shirt.
The 25-year-old has clocked up 28 appearances for the FA Cup and Continental Cup holders. Having missed much of the two double-winning campaigns through injury, Campbell now asserts she has put her injury woes behind her and is ready to play a key role in helping Cushing’s side to more silverware.

“I’m very excited to get going again, starting as a new player almost,” she told CityTV. “I’ve been out for so long injured so I’m looking forward to the challenge.
“I’m looking forward to coming in and fighting for my place. My thoughts are to stay fit and healthy and push on from there.
“I feel 100% fit. My injuries are in the past and I feel like a new player. I’ve been working hard in the off-season – there’s been no rest for me! I’ve had long enough off over the past year.
“You have to train well to play well and be in a position to give Nick a headache. Hopefully, going forward, I can push for minutes and play as much as I can over the season.”
Campbell made the switch to Manchester from Florida State University, upon completing her social science scholarship, quickly establishing herself as a fans’ favourite.
Her trademark long throw-ins became an instant hit and unique weapon in Cushing’s armoury and she played an influential role in City’s 2017 Spring Series season and first FA Cup success, claiming four assists and scoring a stunning free-kick.
After a gruelling spell on the sidelines, she returned to action for the final months of the 2018/19 campaign and has her sights firmly set on a regular starting place for next season and beyond.
“From the success the girls have had, winning two trophies last season, going forward, we want to win more and be as successful as we can,” she added.
“I’m looking forward to the challenge and hopefully helping them along the way.
“My target is to win the domestic treble and I know the Club wants to achieve that. Unfortunately, we slipped up in the league last year so we want to get that one back and go as far as we can in the Champions League.
“We aim to win that trophy and be known as the best team in Europe.
“This season, personally, I aim to take each day as it comes and enjoy every moment I can. Hopefully, there are many trophies to come.”
