After having moved to City from Birmingham in the summer, White was side-lined by injury for the first few months of the season.
But now fit again, the England star showed her predatory instincts on her first home start, rifling home a fine second half effort to give City the lead before Caroline Weir’s stunning strike sealed victory after her former team had levelled.
And as she reflected on the victory, White said she was keen to build on today’s fine showing and to try and find the target as often as possible.

“Scoring my first City goal felt pretty good to be honest,” said White.
“I was delighted to get on the score sheet and contribute to the win and I’m really pleased we got the result and to have started my City career with a goal.
“It was nice to be out there… especially for my first home start. I’ve been out for a while, so it was great to be out on the pitch and to score a goal was lovely.
“My job is to score goals so, ultimately, I’ve got to try and do that. Hopefully, this is the first of many for City.
“It felt really good out there and wanted to stay on (the pitch) for ever. Hopefully after the internationals I can carry on and get more minutes for City.
“I’m an all or nothing type of person and I want to give everything for this club and to contribute in any way possible.”
Reflecting on her first few months at the Club, White said he had been overwhelmed by the warmth of the welcome afforded her by her teammates and staff.
And the 30-year said she was determined to do everything possible to help the Club’s quest for success in the FA Women’s Super League, the FA Women’s Cup and the Continental Cup.
“We have an unbelievably talented squad and I’m very proud and privileged to be a part of it,” White added.
“I’ve moved my whole life up here with my husband and it has been great. It was challenging getting injured, but everyone has been lovely.
“Everyone here has been incredible and I’m lucky to be part of such an amazing Club.
“It was disappointing to come out of the Champions League but now we’re going all guns blazing in everything we can.
“Whether its the League, the Continental or FA Cup, hopefully we can go on and achieve something great this season.”
