The midfielder, Nick Cushing’s third signing of the summer, has agreed a two-year deal after her contract expired with Liverpool.
A box-to-box midfielder with an eye for a goal, Coombs counts Arsenal and Chelsea amongst her former clubs and has also played in the United States with Los Angeles strikers.
The 28-year-old won the league and cup double whilst at Chelsea and is hoping she can add to her medal collection at the Academy Stadium.
“City are a really ambitious Club and there are a lot of things in my career I still want to achieve,” she said.
“I feel that being here gives me the best opportunity to do that.
“I’m really excited to get started.”
