“No. He’s [John Stones] not ready to play. Maybe for the national team, but not us,” said Guardiola.
He did, however, have a positive update on Kevin De Bruyne, who has been ruled out through injury since mid August.
“Of course I see him [De Bruyne] every day and he’s getting better, and his mood is good. Hopefully (he will be back) sooner than expected he will be back.”
PREVIOUS MEETING
In our last trip to the Emirates in February this year, Kevin De Bruyne scored one and assisted another in a dramatic 3-1 Premier League victory, which saw City rise to the top of the table at the expense of the Gunners.
We also faced Mikel Arteta’s men in the FA Community Shield in August, with the London side emerging victorious on penalties.
LAST TIME OUT
We fell to a 2-1 defeat against Wolves in our last league game, whilst Arsenal secured a comfortable 4-0 away victory over Bournemouth.
We were both in UEFA Champions League action in midweek, with Arsenal falling to a 2-1 away loss to Lens, whilst we claimed a 3-1 away win over RB Leipzig.
Pep Guardiola says it’s an honour to be the second longest serving manager in the Premier League – and believes the limited time a packed schedule allows him to train his City players has helped sustain both his longevity in the job and relationships with his squad.
