Opposition manager - ktejil knutsen
Starting his managerial career in the fifth tier with TIL Hovding in 1995, initially as a junior coach before later being appointed as head coach.
In nine years he guided them up two divisions until he moved to first division side, Brann.
He was later appointed as head coach by Fyllingsdalen in 2012 and then at Asane in 2014.
Knutsen was initially announced as an assistant coach at Bodo/Glimt under Aasmund Bjorkan until 2018 when he became head coach.
In 2020, he led his side to their first ever Norwegian national league title, in a record breaking season where they only lost one game.
In 2021, the team won their second Eliteserien title with Knutsen leading Bodo/Glimt to the group stage of the UEFA Conference League, where his outfit became the first team in history to score six times against a Jose Mourinho side as they claimed a 6–1 victory against Roma.
Knutsen led Bodo/Glimt to a third national league title in 2023 and the knockout round play-offs of the Conference League, where they lost to Ajax 4–3 on aggregate.
Bodo/Glimt claimed a fourth league title in 2024 and Knutsen led them to the Europa League semi-finals after beating Lazio 2–3 in a penalty shoot-out, following a 3–3 draw on aggregate, becoming the first Norwegian team to reach the semi-finals of a major European competition.
DaNGER MEN
25-year-old Jens Petter Hauge is one of the club’s most talented players and played a key role in switching the mindset that helped Bodo/Glimt go from underdogs into four-time Norwegian champion.
The forward scored twice in their Champions League tie against Tottenham Hotspur in September as they settled for a 2-2 draw.
Kasper Hogh leads the line and proves a threat in front of goal. During his side’s Champions League play-off first leg game against Sturm Graz, the 24-year-old had four goals disallowed in 37 minutes before netting one in their 5-0 victory. So there’s no doubt that he can find the net!
Pep Guardiola preview
The boss said that playing on Bodo’s artificial pitch cannot be an excuse to underperform this evening.
“There are two arguments with that, the first is it is different, that’s why we train here the night before - never since I’m here in Manchester we have never done that,” Guardiola said. “But we have to see how the ball bounces and the short passes.
“The second argument is life is never easy. If you start to cry, you can’t achieve what we have achieved in the past.
“We were always positive, looked in the mirror and said what we have to do. There are situations you can’t control.”
Last time out
City’s 13-game unbeaten run in all competitions came to an end as we were beaten 2-0 in the Manchester derby at Old Trafford.
