The Scout’s verdict for Gameweek 23 of Fantasy Premier League is in ahead of City’s trip to Brentford.

Pep Guardiola’s side travel to the Gtech Community Stadium on Monday 5 February, with kick-off scheduled for 20:00 (UK).

We enter the fixture following a professional 3-1 victory over Burnley at the Etihad Stadium and aiming to extend our winning streak in all competitions to nine straight matches.

However, that won’t be straightforward against the Bees who beat us home and away in the league last season.

Thomas Frank’s side are buoyed by the return of talismanic striker Ivan Toney from suspension and they will be looking to bounce back from their 3-2 defeat to Spurs in their previous outing against City.

As a result, there is plenty for FPL managers to consider ahead of Saturday 3 February’s 11:00 (UK) deadline.

City’s fit-again Kevin De Bruyne (£10.7m) looks the perfect investment for Gameweek 23 of Fantasy Premier League.

The midfielder seems back to his best following his recent return from long-term injury.

The Belgian delivered a goal, assist and 12 points in a match-winning cameo off the bench against Newcastle United in Gameweek 21.

He followed that up with an assist against Burnley in midweek, his first start since the opening day of the season.

The underlying numbers in those two matches back up De Bruyne’s huge all-round potential.

He averaged a shot every 19.2 minutes and created a chance every 24 minutes.

The midfielder also has a fine record against his hosts Brentford, with a goal and an assist in three league meetings.

Ivan Toney (£8.0m) is Brentford’s form player, with two goals and an assist in two appearances.

Elsewhere, Tottenham Hotspur’s Richarlison (£7.0m) and West Ham United’s James Ward-Prowse (£6.0m) are low-owned assets with strong potential and fixtures.

Richarlison visits Everton on the back of seven goals in seven matches since being moved up front.

Set-piece specialist Ward-Prowse faces a Manchester United side who rank among the bottom two for conceding both headed shots and shots from set-pieces in their last six matches.
