OPPOSING MANAGER - Calum McFarlane
McFarlane has had a remarkable rise from grassroots football, working his way up to become Chelsea’s interim manager following the recent departure of Liam Rosenior.
This is the 38-year-old’s second spell in temporary charge of the Blues after a two-game spell back in January, where he faced Pep Guardiola’s men, earning a 1-1 draw at the Etihad Stadium.
McFarlane was also our U18 side’s assistant manager back in 2022, helping our young Blues to the U18 Premier League National title with current first-team stars Rico Lewis, Nico O’Reilly and Max Alleyne as part of that squad.

DANGERMEN
The obvious threat for Chelsea comes from Cole Palmer.
The Englishman loves to operate inside small pockets of space and is not afraid to strike from range if needed.
Also, despite his recent penalty miss against Nottingham Forest, the 24-year-old has a wonderful record from the penalty spot.
Fellow attacker Joao Pedro is another player to keep an eye on.
The Brazilian is a physical presence up front and has 20 goal involvements in the Premier League this season, highlighting his importance to the London club.

PEP GUARDIOLA PREVIEW
Pep Guardiola will be facing the media at his pre-match press conference from 12:30 (UK) on Friday 15 May where the City boss will provide all the latest team news updates and you can follow it live on mancity.com and our official app.
Don’t worry if you are unable to watch Pep’s press conference as it happens as we’ll have a written review and video recap soon after it has concluded.
PREVIOUS MEETING
Our last FA Cup encounter with Chelsea came in the semi-final of the 2023-24 edition of the tournament, where a late winner from Bernardo Silva saw us secure a place in the final.
We also faced them in the league recently, securing an emphatic 3-0 victory at Stamford Bridge last month thanks to goals from Nico O’Reilly, Marc Guéhi and Jeremy Doku.
LAST TIME OUT
We booked our place in the final with a comeback victory over Southampton. After going behind to a Finn Azaz opener for the Saints late on, goals from Doku and Nico Gonzalez at the death meant it was City who progressed to the showpiece final.

In league terms, we faced Crystal Palace on Wednesday evening and cruised to a 3-0 victory thanks to goals from Antoine Semenyo, Omar Marmoush and Savinho.
As for Chelsea, they overcame Leeds United in the semi-final thanks to an Enzo Fernandez goal.
They come into the final after a hard-fought 1-1 draw away to Liverpool in the Premier League last weekend, with the goal coming again from Fernandez.
