Pep Guardiola, Kevin De Bruyne, Ellen White and Lucy Bronze have been all included on the shortlist for the coveted awards.
Two expert panels – one for women’s football and one for men’s football – selected the candidates for each category.
City boss Guardiola is amongst the nominees for the Best FIFA Men’s Coach award.

Guardiola guided City to a third Premier League title in four years in a remarkable 2020/21 season which saw the Club break a host of domestic records.
Pep also inspired City to a memorable fourth successive Carabao Cup final success in April and also led City to our first-ever Champions League final appearance with his impact and influence earning widespread praise and plaudits throughout the game
Meanwhile midfield talisman De Bruyne has been short-listed for the Best FIFA Men’s Player category.
Belgian star De Bruyne has enjoyed another stellar 12 months – one which saw him voted as the PFA Player of the Season for a second successive year.
De Bruyne was also a key figure in City’s super title success while his commanding influence in Europe guided the Club to that maiden Champions final appearance, scoring in the last-16, quarter-final and semi-final stage of last season’s tournament.
Meanwhile, Lucy Bronze has the chance to retain the the Best FIFA Women’s Player of the Year award, having been nominated again for this year’s gong alongside City teammate Ellen White.

Though Bronze is yet to feature in the 2021/22 season, having undergone knee surgery over the summer, the defender – widely regarded as the world’s best right-back – was one of the first names on Gareth Taylor’s teamsheet last season, as City broke a number of league and Club records.
She also starred on the international stage, bagging a goal and two assists for England against Northern Ireland after scoring in February’s 3-0 Manchester Derby win, and crafting two goals in successive games at the Olympics, as Team Great Britain reached the quarter-finals.
Fellow Lioness White has enjoyed a year to remember for Club and country, with her contributions also recognised with a Ballon d’Or nomination and England Player of the Year award.
Having started the year with a bang, scoring 11 goals in 12 games for City and England, the forward hit the headlines at the Olympics, bagging six goals in six games for Team GB, including a hat-trick against Australia.
Currently on international duty with England, White also stands one appearance away from her 100th appearance and is just three goals shy of becoming the Lionesses’ all-time leading goalscorer.
Public voting is open on FIFA.com and will run until 23:59pm CET on 10 December 2021.
FIFA will announce the three finalists in each of the seven categories listed above in early January 2022 with the winners to be revealed at an online ceremony on 17 January 2022.
