Pep Guardiola preview

“[It’s] Really good to be here. After the first round of the Premier League Arsenal have done it’s difficult to think we were here in that moment.

“It’s an important game, we can get points and our biggest opponent cannot.

“But we have to focus on what we have to do, we’ve played two times this season and the FA Cup and in there it was really tight games and really difficult.

“[It’s] Really important, not decisive because there’s still many tough games for both sides.

“We have more games to play but we can’t deny importance.”

Previous meeting

City will take on Arsenal for the third time this season on Wednesday evening. Most recently, Guardiola’s side travelled to the Emirates Stadium in February and left London with three points after a 3-1 win.

Kevin De Bruyne gave us the lead in the first half but it was late goals from Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland that help City close the gap at the top of the table.

Just a month prior, we welcomed Arsenal to the Etihad Stadium for the FA Cup fourth round in a much tighter affair.

Nathan Ake’s right-footed strike shortly after the hour mark was the defining moment in our 1-0 win over Mikel Arteta’s side.

Last time out

Our last outing in the Premier League saw Guardiola’s team hold out a comfortable 3-1 win over Leicester City. John Stones opened up the scoring for City after five minutes and was followed by a first half brace for Erling Haaland to take his Premier League tally to 32 for the season.
