Because of COVID-19 travel restrictions, we once again face the German outfit in Budapest, with kick-off scheduled for 20:00 (UK) on Tuesday 16 March.

City will be boosted by Saturday evening’s 3-0 victory at Fulham in the Premier League, which moved Pep Guardiola’s men past the 70-point mark with 8 matches to play.

We remain unbeaten in this season’s Champions League campaign, and have won 23 of our last 24 matches in all competitions.

Our opponents currently sit 10th in the German Bundesliga, and will be hoping to right the wrongs from their 3-1 defeat to Augsburg last time out when they travel to Budapest.

Last Meeting

Goals from Bernardo Silva and Gabriel Jesus handed City the advantage in the first leg of our last-16 clash at the end of February.

Bernardo headed home emphatically just before the half hour, getting on the end of his countryman Joao Cancelo’s inch-perfect cross from the left to put us in the lead.

And the Portuguese duo combined once again as Gabriel Jesus doubled the advantage with 25 minutes to play, with the ball eventually nodded into the path of the Brazilian, who stabbed home under pressure.

Pep Guardiola’s men put in a typically impressive performance in Budapest, breaking an English top-flight record with a 12th consecutive away win in the process.
