Nineteen-year-old CJ Egan-Riley will make his Champions League debut as Pep Guardiola makes six changes for the second leg of Manchester City’s last 16 tie against Sporting.

He comes into the side in the absence of Kyle Walker and Joao Cancelo, who miss out due to suspension and illness respectively.

Oleksandr Zinchenko, Fernandinho, Ilkay Gundogan, Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling complete the changes for Guardiola’s side.

PEP GUARDIOLA PREVIEW

“Normally in Portugal it was Porto or Benfica and Sporting were in real trouble two or three seasons ago where every player could be sold and it was a big mess.

“But now the new people turned it around and they have an excellent manager and they are champions.

“I said after the first leg, the difference of 5-0 was not the reality between our teams. But we found the goals quick, four shots on target and four goals.

“Sometimes that happens and after it’s easy and we can control the result. I have a lot of respect for the job they are doing.”

LAST TIME OUT

City cruised to a convincing 4-1 win in the Manchester derby, with Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez both netting a brace apiece to restore our six-point lead at the top of the Premier League.

Sporting also come into this game on the back of a victory, with Islam Slimani scoring both goals in a 2-0 eclipse of Arouca in the Primeira Liga.

PREVIOUS MEETING

City were utterly dominant to win 5-0 in the first leg in Lisbon last month.

Bernardo Silva scored twice, with Riyad Mahrez and Phil Fodennetting one apiece in a rampant first half performance, before Raheem Sterling added a fifth as we became the first team in the competition’s history to win five consecutive away games in the knockout stages.
