Erling Haaland says City are hungry to kick on and embark on a winning streak as the battle for the Premier League crown moves into overdrive.

Our Norwegian striker struck his 26th Premier League goal of the campaign – and 32nd overall – in Wednesday’s superb 3–1 win away at Arsenal which moved City back to the top of the table for the first time since last autumn.

It was a statement performance in every sense with Arsenal having led the table for the past few months and City inflicting a first home league defeat of the season on Mikel Arteta’s side.

But for Haaland, the focus now is about building a sense of momentum as the season enters a decisive final third with City looking to add to our back to back wins against Aston Villa and Arsenal.

“I know how good this team is,” the Premier League’s leading scorer asserted.

“This team has been winning the Premier League for the last five seasons. We cannot forget that.

“Everyone [in the dressing room] is the current champions and have experience. We are still a damn good team.

“We have to play together and demand from each other.

“We have to start going on a winning streak and fight for each other in every single game because they are all difficult.

“We have to start winning more.”

In the wake of that seismic victory at the Emirates there is little respite for Haaland and his colleagues.

City have another important Premier League road trip away to Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon before we then resume Champions League action next Wednesday when we travel to Germany to tackle RB Leipzig in our last 16 first leg encounter

But for the Norwegian and his colleagues, the immediate focus is all about preparing for the challenge at the City Ground against a Forest side unbeaten at home in the league since September.

“We will get the treatments in, train a little bit and get ready for the next game because it comes really soon, and we have to be sharp in that game,” Haaland added.

“The most important thing is to win.

“It’s about working as a team and following Pep’s [Guardiola] plan. This is our job.”
