The City defender and lifelong fan was a special guest on Matchday Live as Pep Guardiola’s men booked our place in the FA Cup last four with victory at Southampton and revealed a unique family tradition carried out ahead of trips to Wembley or Cup finals.
A captivating encounter surely beckons against Liverpool in the semis, with either Crystal Palace or Chelsea awaiting the victors of Saturday’s 15:30 (UK) kick-off.
And with Gareth Taylor’s side also vying for a spot in the Women’s FA Cup final against West Ham from 12:15 at the Chigwell Constructions stadium, this weekend could represent a defining moment in the campaign.
Originating from City’s 2011 FA Cup semi-final win over Manchester United, Morgan will hope to help both sides over the line by enjoying a meal at a popular restaurant with her family this weekend.

“I remember before the game (2011 FA Cup semi-final) we went for Nando’s and we won so from that moment on whenever we’ve played at Wembley or made a Cup final we have to go,” the City defender joked on Matchday Live.
“Even the Continental Cup final (in March), I went and met up with my mum and dad before the game for a lucky Nando’s because I thought if I don’t have this then we’re going to win!
“It’s done the trick and was the start of a new tradition in the family, but it was also the start of City’s dominance in the English footballing scene.”
Morgan also revealed that the match which sparked her unusual tradition remains her favourite FA Cup memory to date.
Facing a Manchester United side on course to win a fourth Premier League title in five seasons and reach a third Champions League final in the same timeframe, Roberto Mancini’s men travelled to Wembley as the underdogs in April 2011.
However, Yaya Toure’s solo effort early in the second half was enough to book our place in the FA Cup final for the first time since 1981 and secure a memorable Derby victory.
Morgan reflects: “I just remember the roar of the crowd when Yaya (Toure) put that goal in, it was incredible and seeing people just pour down the stairs to the front (of the stand).
“I was on the bottom tier and people were jumping on their seats, we all did the Poznan and it was just a party day.
“There was such a good vibe around the whole day and you almost went down with a good feeling in there somewhere that we were going to do it. Everything about that day was just perfect.”
